Pictures of Products
I'd like to start by saying that I am SOOOO sorry for not posting for the past couple of weeks. I have been extremely busy with school, working on my portfolio, baking and developing recipes. I have quite a few new recipes that I am excited about posting this week!
When I first went gluten free, I searched the web for countless hours trying to find what I could and could not eat. Lets not even mention how hard it is to find things that are free of both gluten and dairy. Lists of products are helpful, but I really like pictures! Pictures of products are helpful to me, because gluten and dairy free product labels are often times small, making the product harder to find. If I know in advance what a product looks like, I have a better chance of finding it on a shelf. Of course there is always the possibility that packaging may change. Sometimes when I see a product's picture and find out that I can have it, I feel rather dumb because many times it is a product that I have already seen, but assumed it was not safe. I have compiled some of the items that I use and enjoy. I will continue to update this periodically. So let the product picture mania begin!

Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips - I love these. I only wish I could find them in every store! They are gluten, dairy, soy, and nut free and are an amazing addition to any snack or treat. I also like to put these in the homemade trail mixes.

Amy's Rice Macaroni -I have not had Macaroni in years! So when my husband brought this home from Whole Foods I was extremely excited! This is gluten, dairy and soy free. It tastes like what I remember of Kraft macaroni, but better! (It is not your mom or grandmothers), but it's a pretty awesome substitute considering that it won't cause any sickness for gluten, soy and/or dairy free-ers! After making and eating this, I read the box and notice that it is made in a facility that produces wheat and dairy products. Since I am very sensitive to gluten I try to avoid products that are made in the same facilities that produce allergen containing foods. Fortunately, I did not get sick from this and plan on calling the company to verify that Amy's products are made separately from those containing common food allergens.
Big Lots Products
Every Biglots offers different items, but here are some of the wonderful gluten and dairy free finds that I nabbed on a few occasions.

EnvioroKidz Gorilla Munch is a fun kiddie cereal. I like to put this in snack sized bags when I am on the go. I think I eat these more as a snack than I do as breakfast. These are labeled gluten free and do not list any dairy ingredients. I found these at Biglots for $2 instead of nearly $4 at other stores.

Most of Celestial Seasonings teas are gluten free! I always check each box before I make a purchase though. I love the variety of flavors to choose from.
The India Spice Chai is one of my favorites.

Thai Kitchen Rice Noodles- Are gluten free and vegan. I find these really handy because they are quick and easy to prepare. The smaller packages afford you the convenience of ramen noodles. I found the smaller packages at Biglots for 50 cents a piece!

Fruit and Nut Crunch -These are the bee's knees! I found this for $2.30. Normally, gluten and vegan fruit and nut snacks are more expensive, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw these. I went and bought two more after my first time trying them! The package contains clusters of peanuts, cranberries, cashews and almonds. Unfortunately this is not a treat for those who must avoid peanuts and tree nuts.

Arrowhead Mills Gluten Free Pancake and Baking Mix - Yes, I actually found this at Biglots for $2.80.
I was interested in trying this because it does not contain any dairy ingredients. My husband and I had these the other day and enjoyed them immensely! Admittedly, I am not a pancake connoisseur, but I love pancakes and thought these were great. Especially because they are so easy to prepare. I hear Pamela's Baking and Pancake Mix is awesome, but it has milk in it, so I have never been able to try it.
